    Who can apply for an SRRV?

    The principal applicant must be at least 40 years old and satisfy PRA’s documentary and immigration requirements. A legally married spouse and eligible unmarried children under 21 at the time of application may join as dependents. Children must be legitimate or legally adopted under the program’s rules.

    SRRV Classic visa deposit requirements

    SRRV Classic is available to qualifying pensioners and non-pensioners. The required dollar deposit depends on age and pension status:

    Pensioner applicants need evidence of a lifetime pension of at least USD 800 per month for a single applicant, or USD 1,000 per month for applicants with dependents. The visa deposit is separate from application fees, annual fees and professional service charges.

    Follow PRA’s instructions for inward remittance from abroad to an accredited bank. If using an accredited private bank, obtain the required PRA Letter of Introduction. Do not treat the deposit as an ordinary spending account: any conversion into a permitted investment must follow PRA rules.

    What about SRRV Courtesy?

    SRRV Courtesy has separate qualifying categories for former Filipinos and certain foreign nationals, including qualifying retired diplomats, international-organization officers and military personnel, as well as recognized high achievers. It is not available solely because someone prefers a lower deposit. Ask for a category assessment and the supporting-document requirements.

    SRRV application document checklist

    • Original passport and a valid, convertible tourist visa with sufficient validity for processing.
    • Completed and signed PRA application form.
    • PRA medical certificate and required medical results, issued within the applicable six-month period.
    • Police clearance from the relevant country of origin or residence, and Bureau of Immigration Clearance Certificate.
    • NBI clearance where required based on time already spent in the Philippines; confirm applicability when approaching 90 days.
    • Bank certification or proof of the required inward remittance.
    • Eight recent 2-by-2-inch photographs meeting PRA specifications.
    • Proof of lifetime pension when applying as a pensioner.
    • Marriage, birth or adoption records for dependents, and evidence supporting any Courtesy qualification.

    Documents issued overseas require the applicable apostille or Philippine consular authentication and an English translation if necessary. PRA may request additional evidence for an applicant’s nationality or circumstances. Use the official PRA forms and checklists when preparing originals.

    Plan your budget in three parts: the required visa deposit, government fees, and separate preparation or professional costs. Courtesy annual fees follow a separate schedule. Additional deposits may apply for larger families.

    PRA lists a processing fee of USD 1,500 for the principal applicant and USD 300 for each joining dependent. The SRRV Classic annual fee is USD 360 for the principal and up to two dependents, with USD 100 for each dependent beyond two. Additional visa deposits may also apply for larger families. Courtesy annual fees follow a different schedule.

    How to apply for the Philippines retirement visa

    1. Review eligibility. Confirm your age, pension evidence, dependents and proposed SRRV category.
    2. Prepare documents. Arrange overseas records, translations and authentication before their validity periods expire.
    3. Coordinate the deposit. Follow PRA and accredited-bank instructions and obtain the bank certificate.
    4. Complete and submit the application. Attend to Philippine clearances, medical requirements and the complete filing package.
    5. Remain available during assessment. Respond to requests for further documents and maintain valid immigration status.
    6. Maintain membership after approval. Keep track of PRA annual fees, identification requirements and the conditions attached to your visa and deposit.

    PRA’s Expanded SRRV Program checklist states a processing period of 30–45 working days after receipt of complete requirements and requires applicants to remain physically present in the Philippines throughout the application process. This is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed completion date.

    • Which SRRV options are currently listed by PRA?

      PRA currently lists SRRV Classic and SRRV Courtesy. Applicants considering older program names should ask PRA which current category applies to them.

    • Does an SRRV guarantee approval or Philippine citizenship?

      No. PRA and the Bureau of Immigration assess applications. The SRRV is a residence visa program, not a grant of Philippine citizenship.
