Adding a Spouse or Child to a Philippine SRRV Application
The Special Resident Retireeās Visa (SRRV) can cover qualifying dependents, but the principal applicant should establish each family relationship and current eligibility before preparing the application. A spouse or child cannot simply be added by listing a name on the principalās form. The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) applies its own documentary and program rules.
Who may qualify
The PRAās current SRRV page identifies a legally married spouse and an unmarried child below 21 years of age upon application as potential dependents; the child must be legitimate or legally adopted. The expanded SRRV program document sets out the qualified persons and options. Check the version in force when filing, particularly if a child is close to the age limit.
The relationship should be supported with an appropriate marriage or birth record, or adoption documentation when relevant. Foreign-issued documents may need English translation and apostille or Philippine consular authentication under PRA instructions. Spelling, dates and parentage should align with passports and the principal applicantās records.
Budget for the whole family
The PRA states that the annual fee covers a principal and up to two dependents under the applicable category, with an additional fee for further dependents. Its SRRV page also describes a further visa deposit for each dependent beyond two, with an exception for former Filipinos. Amounts and category treatment should be checked against the current PRA schedule before remittance.
Each applicant must maintain lawful Philippine immigration status during processing. The principalās visa category, deposit option and documentary timeline should therefore be planned alongside the dependentsā entry and stay. If a family memberās circumstances change before approval, disclose the change and ask the PRA what update is required.
