9G Visa Holder’s ACR I-Card Renewal: Check the Basis and Timing
A 9G work visa and the associated Alien Certificate of Registration I-Card are related but distinct records. An employee whose card is nearing expiry should check the underlying visa and passport details before assuming that the card can simply be renewed in isolation.
Use the BI’s renewal route
The Bureau of Immigration maintains a Renewal of ACR I-Card service for existing holders whose circumstances fall within its listed bases. The applicant should obtain the current checklist and verify the relevant office, fees and documentary requirements. BI’s 9G service page also addresses the ACR card in the context of visa conversion and extension.
Compare the card with the current passport, implemented visa, employer and BI records. A new passport, changed visa status or pending 9G extension can affect the appropriate sequence. If a dependent’s card is involved, review that person’s separate status and documents.
Plan for travel
Do not leave a card mismatch until the day of departure. A pending card renewal can raise questions about exit and return requirements. Ask the BI about current documentation or any applicable waiver before travel, and keep official receipts and claims slips.
Our Philippine visa services can help coordinate the visa and ACR records. Contact BizzureVisa with the expiry dates and planned travel.
